Peace in scripture isn't described as the absence of trouble — Jesus offered his peace "not as the world giveth," in the same breath as acknowledging trouble would still come. It's a peace available in the middle of difficulty, not only after it's resolved.
That's a different kind of peace than circumstances alone can offer, which is why it's described as passing understanding — it doesn't always make logical sense given what's happening.
Whatever's around you today, let these verses offer that steadier kind of peace. Try the Bible Verse Memory Game on the Verses4Emotions homepage.
Verses4Emotions curates scripture by how you're feeling right now —
peaceful, anxious, grateful, or anywhere in between.
